FEATURE TEXAS TORNADO BOOT CAMP P64 Suffice to say this place is rather a lot of fun if you're into having fun. Spending four days hanging out with a guy I've been watching on TV as long as I can remember, making actual friends I want to stay in contact with, rid- ing bikes, learning skills, shoot- ing guns, drinking good beer and eating great food, is my idea of a good time. It's like Colin and his buddies decided to build exactly the kind of place they wanted to hang out at, and let others come along for the ride. There is a serious side to the camp, too. You're not paying all this money just so you can brag about hanging with a world cham- pion for a few days. You want to learn, improve, and come away with skills you thought you never had the capacity to acquire. It's impossible not to learn at a place like the TTBC. Not with instructors the caliber of two-time AMA Grand National Champion Jake Johnson, AMA Superbike rider Corey West, former AMA Supersport gun Shea Fouchek, and Head Instructor Joe Prus- siano, himself a three-time Pikes Peak class winner. These guys, especially Johnson, can make it seem like his little Yamaha TT- R125 is a nice young lady he's just picked up and they're in a romantic, dusty courtship.
