CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "I think Rossi has the mental toughness [but] Jorge Lorenzo is super quick if he is in the groove." Divine Justice It would be divine justice if Bryan Smith wins the champi- onship because of Jared Mees' mechanical. After all, that's what cost Bryan the champion- ship last year. Mark Kern Hope it's settled on the track with them finishing the rest of the races! Jim Bolton Marvin Musquin I would just like to say a few words [to] Marvin Musquin: Marvin, you have such a great attitude and we are so glad you are here to race. You are such a stand-up guy and I hope you do not let someone like Cooper Webb ruin your hopes. He has no class and I hope Yamaha talks to him about his attitude because he needs it. Keep being you and you'll do great. Your fans are behind you all the way. We'll do all the thinking for you. Your fan, Sonja. Sonja Branch Dopey Bastards So Rennie Scaysbrook thinks people who "intention- ally" make their bikes loud are dopey bastards? Those of us who are dopey enough to replace the neutered stock exhausts off of our 20K Sportbikes to actually get the performance these bikes are capable of ask…editor, where- fore art thou? Christian Rice Bonneville Cancelation It will fall to Cycle News, if they have the balls, to investigate what percentage of the en- trants' pre-entry dollars will ac- tually be refunded. I could see them needing to keep possibly five percent for some operat- ing expenses, but no more. All this depends on how honorable Ms. Manning is and how much she wants racers to keep com- ing to "her" event. Last year was a cluster on day one as hundreds of people sat in lines on the entrance road, waiting to get on the salt. She needs to take a page from SCTA's procedures manual as to how to run one of these events. Or better yet, get her out of the business and turn it over to racers and keep AMA's involve- ment to a minimum, as well. Jerry Burns Oops In issue 34, in your Looking Back column, you state the picture on the August 19, 1975 cover is of Sonny Burres. Wrong! He was one of my heros, the picture is of Tony DiStefano. Sonny did win Peo- ria that year, though! Thanks for a great publica- tion! Keith Regelin Valentino Rossi The best news on my Sunday— Valentino Rossi wins. Now with Marc Marquez out of the title hunt, the Yamahas go head to head. I think Rossi has the mental toughness [but] Jorge Lorenzo is super quick if he is in the groove. Good on Ducati.
