SUZUKI GSX-S1000
FIRST RIDE

Y
ou really have to wonder what was going on at
Suzuki HQ 10 years ago. They'd just created
a masterpiece in the GSX-R1000K5—arguably
the best GSX-R ever invented—and what did they
do with it? Nothing, that's what.
When the world was getting into sports na-
ked bikes with the new Yamaha FZ1 and Honda
CB1000R, Suzuki was still pushing the 1250 Ban-
dit (hardly a sporty naked at the best of times) as
their version of clothes-off riding goodness.
A BIKE 10 YEARS IN THE MAKING,
THE SUZUKI GSX-S1000 HAS FINALLY
ARRIVED. IS IT A CASE OF GOOD
TIMING, OR TOO LATE?

Low weight and
plenty of power,
just what a naked
bike should have.
