VOL. 52 ISSUE 35 SEPTEMBER 1, 2015 P35
Third went to Lee Johnston on
the second of the Black Eagle
MV Agusta machines.
It was another frustrating
500cc TT for John McGuinness
and Ryan Farquhar, who were
running first and second on their
Patons when both machines
were forced into retirement
with mechanical problems. The
500cc saw 30 retirements in
total, including crasher Johannes Van
de Pol, who came off at Tower Bends
and suffered a broken leg.
The 350cc race would see Michael
Rutter on the Ripley Land Racing
Drixton Honda, crossing the line a
massive 2 minute, 14.5 second lead
over Phil McGurk's Honda with Doug
Snow's Ducati coming home third.
Rutter engaged in a fierce fight
with Dan Cooper and looked set
for victory, only for Cooper's Manx
Norton to expire on the final lap. That
left Rutter all on his own out front with
New Zealand-based classic racing
specialist Chris Swallow in second on
another Manx, only for his machine
to roll to a stop on the final lap at
Graham Memorial on the mountain.
It was another race of attrition as Lee
Johnston, William Dunlop, Swallow,
Alan Oversby, Danny Webb and Jamie
Coward were all among the retire-
ments. CN
Harrison got the better of Laugher
and teammate Lee Johnston for the
500cc victory.
(Left) Michael Rutter outlasted everyone to
take the 350cc TT honors.
Cowton took a record-breaking win
in the Formula Two TT.
