Its sound is meatier, gustier than
the 1199 it replaces. It positively
annihilates any other V-twin of
similar ilk in the audio depart-
ment.
That's a good thing when
riding the street. I'm not a fan of
overly loud bikes and think peo-
ple who deliberately make their
bikes ear-splittingly noisy are
dopey bastards, but the Ducati
has just the right sound level
to let people know you're there
without being too obnoxious.
But being obnoxious almost
comes with the Panigale terri-
tory. That noise is nothing short
of orgasmic, and I spent more
time I should riding around in
third gear with the revs 1500
rpm more than they were sup-
posed to be just so I could hear
the song of Bolonga's best echo
around Southern California. I
This is Panigale
country. During initial
turn in the electronic
Öhlins gives awesome
stability.
