T
he season finale of the
Lucas Oil Pro Motocross
Championships at the
Ironman National in Crawfords-
ville, Indiana, had many twists
and turns. In the end, only two
riders left completely satisfied
with their season—the rest were
left wanting. Jeremy Martin's
path to defending his 250
National title got a lot easier
when he saw his archrival Mar-
vin Musquin pushing his KTM
back to the pits early in the first
moto. But not so fast. Martin still
needed to finish 15th or better to
insure holding on to his number-
one plate, and he crashed on
the first lap of the second moto.
Briefly...
Jeremy Martin's back-to-back 250
championships marked the first time
Yamaha has won the class since
1979 when Broc Glover ended his
three-year reign in what was then the
AMA 125cc Motocross class. It also
marked Yamaha's seventh champi-
onship in the class.
Aaron Plessinger was named the
2015 Rookie of the Year for Lucas
Oil Pro Motocross at an awards cer-
emony Saturday night.
The second 450 moto was red
flagged almost immediately when
Kyle Chisholm went down hard on
his Team Chiz Kawasaki about 100
yards off the starting gate. It looked
bad, with Chisholm not moving for
what seemed like minutes, but finally
he was able to get up and walk off
the track with the help of the Asterisk
Medical crew.
