IN THE WIND P38 TEAM BELGIUM JOINS LIST MXON TEAMS T eam Belgium is the latest squad to announce its team for the upcoming Motocross of Nations in France. Many were up in the air as to whom the always-tough Belgium team would send over with one of its top riders—Clement Desalle—on the injury list. As it turns out, it will be made up of Kevin Strij- bos, Jeremy Van Horebeek and Julien Lieber, who went 11-15 last year in his first effort. Even though some consider Team USA as a "B" team, the Yamaha trio of Justin Barcia, Jeremy Martin and Cooper Webb, who are all riding well right now, have a definite chance of winning, but it's the trio from France who seemed poised to hoist the Chamberlain Trophy over their heads when all is said and done. It's going to be tough for anyone to beat the French with MXGP points leader Romain Febvre, Gautier Paulin and Marvin Musquin all healthy and ready to go. The Brits have a chance with Shaun Simpson (a recent MXGP winner) and Max Anstie (a recent MX2 winner). Their third rider has not been an- nounced yet, but it could be either Tommy Searle or Dean Wilson. Team Switzerland has a strong team, as well, with Valen- tin Guillod, Arnaud Tonus and Jeremy Seewer making up the squad. As for Team Germany, it appears that Ken Roczen won't be riding again, but the team will have early MXGP title leader Max Nagl on board, though he'll need help. Italy has not yet an- nounced its team but will most likely be without injured hero Antonio Cairoli. CN YZR500 AND NORTON ROTARIES CONFIRMED FOR CLASSIC TT T he 2015 Superbike TT winner, Bruce Anstey, will be back in action at the Isle of Man on the ultra- rare Valvoline Padgetts Yamaha 1992 YZR500 in the Classic TT, starting August 22. The New Zealander will defend the Classic Senior TT title he won on the 500 in 2014. However, with a year of development under his belt on the Yamaha, he is expected to push the boundaries further still, hoping for a lap of 127-128 mph. That would put him amongst the fastest Supersport machines that compete in the regular TT event around the 37¾-mile circuit and dramatically faster than the 123.894 mph lap he recorded last year. Also at the Classic TT will be a rolling display entitled, 'Nor- ton—The Rotary Years'. Thirteen of the iconic British racers will be ridden around the TT course in what will be the largest display ever of the screaming rotaries, ridden by an array of TT stars, including John McGuinness, Michael and William Dunlop, Connor Cummins and Cameron Donald. CN Kevin Strijbos hopes to lead Team Belgium to victory at the Moto- cross of Nations. PHOTO COURTESY SUZUKI-RACING.COM Can Anstey crack an incredible 128mph lap on a 1992 Yamaha YZR500?
