bummer, but I'm proud to win this one for
the USA and stand on the center step of
the podium and earn the national title.
"I had chills running down my back
from the fatigue and I know that Jonny
felt a little sick the last few days and also
had to deal with jetlag, so I am happy
that I was I was able to take the win",
Webb added. "This is definitely right
up there with the biggest wins I have
ever had with all of the tough riders that
showed up for this event."
In Walker's defense, the Brit was a bit
under the weather on the day of the race
and had gone without eating for the two
days leading up to the event. Early on in
the main event, Walker actually pulled
over to allow Webb to take the lead so that
sure on Rockstar Energy Husqvarna's
Colton Haaker and SRT KTM's Cory
Graffunder, eventually passing both to
move into fourth before going head to
head with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna
Factory Racing's Mike Brown for third.
After 10 grueling laps, Webb crossed
the finished with 1:43 to spare over
Walker, with Robert coming in third.
Remarkably, these three riders lapped
the field up to third place by the end of
the race.
"I had a great time battling with Taylor
[Robert] and Jonny [Walker]," said
Webb." Jonny faded really bad in the fi-
nal race, and I've done that before going
overseas, dealing with jetlag and riding
Graffunder rounded out the
top five with a solid ride.
