"There's been a couple. That
Aprilia that lit me on fire (in
Germany, 2003) was pretty
bad. That asshole Cube I
would say as far as outright
worst bike ever, that probably
took the cake. But the V5
Honda I had the next year
wasn't great, either. It had
probably the worst clutch
I've ever had on my racebike.
The thing would lock up and
chatter everywhere. We didn't
have the same stuff as the
factory guys of (Alex) Barros
and Nicky (Hayden). When
I went to Yamaha the next
year and we went testing,
they asked me how the bike
was, and the first thing I told
them was. 'Don't change the
clutch!'"
Colin and the Aprilia
never got along. For that
matter, no rider ever got
along with that Aprilia.
