In addition to becoming the all-time
AMA Pro Grand National TT wins
leader with 16, Henry Wiles now has
a career total of 27 AMA Grand Na-
tional victories putting him just one
win away from tying the legendary
Bart Markel for ninth on the all-time
wins list. Wiles has the second-most
national wins among active riders
behind Kenny Coolbeth who has 34
career wins.
There was much talk of the tire dop-
ing controversy as reported on
by leading motorcycle racing blog-
ger Mark Gardiner at Bikewriter.
com. No one wanted to talk on the
record about the tire-doping allega-
tions and the Jared Mees camp de-
nied chemically modifying their tires
at Du Quoin, as has been alleged
by other competitors. Gardiner re-
ceived the following statement from
AMA Pro Racing on the controversy
that emerged after the Du Quoin

considerably more worn than others:
