"Eighteen points is a decent
gap, but I know how good this
guy (Hayes) is at New Jersey so
it's going to be a pretty stressful-
the historic Speedway, it also put
Beaubier into an 18-point lead
over Monster Energy Yamaha
teammate Josh Hayes (who was
third in both races) and sets up
a situation where Beaubier does
not need to win in the final two
races in New Jersey next month
rain came harder and Beaubier's
strategy paid off with a clean
sweep at Indy.
Any way you look at it, the
Indy weekend was a significant
milestone in the history of AMA
Superbike racing. Not only did it
mark the first Superbike races at
Hayden had a funky
new paint job and
found some extra
speed at Indy
to be right with
the Yamahas of
Beaubier (6) and
Hayes (1).
