VOL. 52 ISSUE 32 AUGUST 11, 2015 P35 Mitas Motorcycle Business Unit, Savatech d.o.o., Škofjeloška cesta 6, 4502 Kranj, Slovenia Flat Track Tire H-18 Distributed By: www.durelleracing.com www.motorace.com www.mitas-moto.com ANSTEY TAKES ULSTER GRAND PRIX N ew Zealander Bruce Anstey capped off a memorable 2015 road- racing season by taking victories in the first and third Superbike races at the 2015 Ulster Grand Prix, at the Dundrod Circuit in Northern Ireland, August 9. Anstey took the flag aboard a Padgett's Honda in a shortened five- lap encounter by 0.037sec over PBM Kawasaki's Ian Hutchinson, with East Coast/Burdens BMW rider Lee Johnston third. He'd earlier taken the first Superbike race victory by a comfortable 4.4 seconds from Honda Racing's Connor Cummins and impressive rookie Peter Hick- man on the Briggs Equipment BMW, who took victory in the second Superbike race from Cummins and Michael Dunlop (BMW). The victories move Anstey up to fourth on the all-time win list at the Ulster Grand Prix. Guy Martin (Tyco BMW) had a weekend to forget and was lucky not to have suffered more serious injuries when he high-sided out of the lead in the opening Superbike race. Martin sustained fractured vertebrae, broken ribs and a broken sternum, narrowly missing a tree, as he tumbled into a paddock on the final lap, ruling him out of the rest of the meeting. It proved to be an excellent Ulster Grand Prix weekend for Lee Johnston with the 26-year-old Irishman taking both Supersport races as well as a thrilling Superstock 1000 win, where he crossed the line 0.090sec ahead of Dundrod rookie Peter Hickman (BMW). Johnston also walked away with a new lap record for the class at 132.793 mph. The event, however, was marred by the death of 24-year-old Andy Lawson who was killed during the second Supersport race. Racing continued at the request of Lawson's family. CN Anstie's wins put him fourth in the all-time win list for the Ulster Grand Prix.
