T
here were two winners
in MotoAmerica's Super-
sport race at the famed
Indianapolis Motor Speedway—
Garrett Gerloff and JD Beach.
For Gerloff it was a return to the
top top on the podium after a
frustrating season. For Beach
it was a return to the top of his
class after a frustrating five
years.
Naturally, it was smiles all
around at the Yamalube/Y.E.S./
Graves/Yamaha camp.
Gerloff wasn't able to take the
title, but he got back out front,
and more importantly, scored
a win at the famous Brickyard
and in front of the MotoGP
World Championship crowd.
Beach didn't keep his win streak
alive, but more importantly, he
achieved the ultimate goal—the
coveted Supersport crown.
The proverbial win-win sce-
nario.
THE BATTLE
Despite the fact that Beach
grabbed the holeshot twice, it
was a tale of two races, as the
race was red flagged around
the halfway mark. In part one,
