The team hinted that poor results were the reason, although Vinales lies eighth overall, with one podium and five other top 10 results; beneath the surface there were sponsorship woes, and allega- tions from both sides of considerable amounts of money owed. Doubtless to Laglisse's dismay, Vinales turned up at Indianapolis, as a substitute rider for Ana Carrasco on the RBA KTM. Carrasco broke her arm in a crash with fellow girl rider Maria Her- rera (Vinales's former teammate) at the Sachsenring. Also dumped, Ricky Cardus, from the Tech 3 Moto2 team, not having scored a point this year. His place in the three-rider squad goes to Span- ish rookie Xavier Verge Forward Racing was absent at Indy, but a pre-race announcement from the troubled team confirmed that continued on next page
