VOL. 52 ISSUE 32 AUGUST 11, 2015 P33 times and fair play to the boys in the pits. They got the bikes go- ing again and it was tough work for them. "The bikes were pretty dam- aged every time I went down. So it was an absolutely great job by them. "When I crossed the finish line and I'd won it, it was like time stood still for a few seconds. I'm just so glad. "Every time I go to a GP, I go to win it. Right now, it's a feeling I want to have more often." Kildemand paid tribute to Wof- finden for a very sporting reac- tion to his exclusion from the final after the Brit offered a few words of encouragement before the re-run. He said, "It's always tough and, to be fair, Tai was really cool. He came up and gave me some advice. He just told me to ride the track and it worked." Following his heat-18 crash with Kildemand and Pedersen, Zagar battled through the pain of leg and hand injuries to secure second. He was gutted when the final was halted after hitting the front with a great start in the first stag- ing of the race. But his 12-point haul puts him level with third- placed Greg Hancock in the World Championship standings at 65 points. Reflecting on a very mixed meeting, Zagar said, "It was an unfortunate night, to be honest. I had a big crash and the final was re-run when I was leading. But overall, I'm happy I didn't get any serious breaks. It's just badly bruised. And second place is good. Zagar passed Michael Jepsen Jensen for second on the last lap of the final to deny the home fans a dream Danish one-two. But Grindsted hero Jepsen Jensen believes his appearance on the Horsens podium could herald a real upturn in fortunes af- ter admitting he has rediscovered the belief and sharpness three years of injuries have cost him. John Hipkiss PUTT SWEEPS US MOTOTRIALS FINALE N ewcomer to the Pro class, Andrew Putt punctuated his rookie season with a pair of wins at the series finale of the Aires AMA U.S. National MotoTrials Series near Casper Wyoming, August 8-9. The Sherco USA rider topped teammate Daniel Blanc-Gonnet by 14 points on Saturday in an event that featured easy sec- tions mixed in with extremely hard ones. Cody Webb, who has been concentrating most of his training on the AMA EnduroCross Series, which he won last year, finished third on Saturday, two points behind Blanc-Gonnet. On Sunday, the organizers changed many of the sections to make them tighter and more technical, which was more to Webb's liking. However, Putt still came away with his second win in a row, this time by only two points over Webb, 16 to 18, while Blanc-Gonnet dropped to third. Newly crowned U.S. MotoTri- als champion Pat Smage was not in attendance due to a death in the family, and Bryan Roper, another of Putt's teammates, sat out the event due to illness. "I had a good weekend," said Putt. "I had a few little mis- takes but I was consistent all weekend and the biggest thing was consistency. On Saturday, there just a few sections that were difficult and the rest were super easy, so you had to be really consistent and not make any mistakes in the easy sec- tions but still perform well in the hard ones." Blanc-Gonnet's runner-up finish on Saturday was a career best for the Sherco USA rider. "I don't even know what to say," said Blanc-Gonnet. "I felt pretty confident coming into this event after riding the world round in Rhode Island. I rode well, I hit my marks, and al- though there were a few places I could have tightened up, I'm pretty happy with how I per- formed." Shan Moore
