2015 HONDA INTERCEPTOR VFR800F QUICKSPIN P92 and it immediately responds with that distinctive Interceptor growl from its V-4 engine. Dump the clutch and you're immediately taken back to the good ol' days of the VFR800F with its friendly demeanor and seamless power delivery. The Interceptor's motor isn't intimidating by any means, but it's got enough power to keep you grinning. It does seem spunkier than the previous VFR800, but it's been a while. Everything about the new Inter- ceptor is smooth—the clutch, the transmission, than motor and the suspension. Speaking of the VFR800F's suspension, it is initially plush but overall, still has a slight firm feel about it. The non-inverted fork, which is disguised as an upside fork, is non-adjustable except for spring preload. The shock has some rebound damp- ing adjustability. Luckily, it's set up nicely right out of the crate. The Interceptor is a nice com- promise between sport and tour- ing. It does both very well, with emphasis on sport, but this bike can be ridden for many, many miles in comfort. Honda offers plenty of accessories, including saddlebags and a top trunk, to make the touring part of the ride even more enjoyable. Honda offers a standard mod- el ($12,499) and a deluxe model ($13,499). We tested the deluxe. For an extra $1000 you get a lot in return for the deluxe, like ABS (no linked braking for the DLX), traction control, adjustable rebound damping and spring preload 43mm fork, a remote rear-suspension preload adjust- er, heated grips, self-canceling turn signals and a center stand. Makes you wonder why they even bother with the standard model. Both models come in two color options: red and white. Our favorite is the classic VFR red, but the all-white looks pretty good, too. Overall, we're thrilled to have the VFR800F Interceptor back. It's way too good of a motorcycle not to be around.
