America, that came at Road
Atlanta when she took a pair of
sixth places, but it signaled a
dramatic upturn in speed, where
her fastest lap time to the leader
was down to around three sec-
onds off. That might not sound
impressive, but remember this
is on a basic GSX-R1000, with
none of the electronic aids of the
factory Yoshimura Suzuki team.
Yet Myers says the biggest
thing for her to adapt to this sea-
son has been the change in race
format. Riding two races in a day
has proven tough work for her,
something she knows will only
come with increased training
and fitness.
"Having only one race Satur-
day and one Sunday (on 600s)—
23 laps in a day was certainly
taxing," she admits. "But to try
and do two, on a much faster
bike, in one day is a lot harder.
