the gap was coming down. If I
was going to have one chance
to win today and win the World
Championship I had to do every-
thing to take it. I was past Chaz
but in the last corner he let the
brakes off and came through.
There was some contact, but I
can go into the summer break
feeling quite relaxed and we can
find the target in Spain."
For Davies the race-two win
of the big trophy. No more math
involved—as soon as he gets
those six points he's won out-
right, as with 12 wins and a per-
fect podium record of top three
finishes this year, he cannot be
caught on the count-back rule.
"In race two I just kept my
pace, kept my rhythm and I was
setting the same pace all race
long," said Rea. "At one point
I had accepted second in race
two behind Chaz [Davies] but
Had Rea won the second race
he would have been crowned
champion three rounds, six
races and one entire summer
break early.
He didn't quite do a double
but he is now just six points shy
Chaz Davies (7) held off the hard
charging Jonathan Rea (65) to take
the checkers by .091 of a second
in race two, postponing Rea's
coronation.
