BAYLOR BOYS TOP
RATTLESNAKE ENDURO
T
he Baylor boys—Steward and
Grant—wrangled the Rattle-
snake Enduro in Cross Fork,
Pennsylvania, round seven of
the Kenda AMA National Enduro
Series, with Steward taking his
second win of the season and
brother Grant finishing in the
runner-up slot.
Neither rider got off to a very
good start. Steward was ninth
after the first test and Grant in
fifth, but both riders got it in gear
for the remainder of the event
and eventually finished one and
two, with Steward getting the
win by just under a minute over
his brother.
Steward seems to be finally
getting back on track after a
series of injuries have held him
in check for a couple of rounds.
The MotoTech KTM rider won
the opening round of the series
in South Carolina, but then badly
broke his collarbone two days
before round two of the series
and he's been trying to get back
up to speed ever since. It seems
he has done just that!
Meanwhile, series points
leader FMF/KTM's Kailub Rus-
sell had a day he would quickly
like to forget and finished a dis-
appointing sixth, tightening up
the points chase considerably.
With just three rounds remaining
on the schedule, Russell's lead
in the series shrunk after this
race from 24 points to just 13
points over Steward Baylor.
FMF/KTM's Russell Bobbitt
kicked off the event by winning
the opening test of the day,
beating Kailub Russell by 11
seconds, with Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna Factory Racing's
Andrew DeLong in third another
four seconds back. Both riders
faded a bit, however, as the
event wore on.
Steward Baylor took control of
the race in test two and won four
of the next five tests, giving the
