P124 40 Years Ago August 5, 1975 We featured speedway, motocross and TT on the cover of Cycle News 40 years ago… Gary Scott was the big winner at the Ascot TT National. Scott took the win ahead of John Gennai, Rick Hocking and Hank Scott… Marty Smith and Tony DiStefano took the 125 and 250cc wins at the Delta, Ohio, Inter-AMA Motocross… We tested the 212-pound Husqvarna 360 CR GP mo- tocrosser… Mitch Mayes and A.C. Bakken continued to go at it in the SoCal desert; this time, Mayes got the upper hand. 30 Years Ago August 7, 1985 Doug Chandler was featured on the cover of Cycle News 30 years ago to accompany our interview with the dirt track title challenger… Broc Glover won both motos at the Broome-Tioga MX National in New York and with it clinched the 1985 500cc MX title. Ron Lechien won both 125cc motos… Scott Head won the 16 th running of the El Trial de Espana in Big Bear, California… We covered the CMC/Skoal Bandit Western State MX Cham- pionship in Utah; Bader Manneh and Brian Manley were the big winners. Bubba Shobert won the Du Quoin Mile. 10 Years Ago August 3, 2005 Matt Mladin and Eric Bostrom shared the cover 10 years ago for sharing victories at the Mid-Ohio AMA Superbike. Roger Lee Hayden beat Tommy Hayden in the 600 Supersport… Rain or shine (this time rain) Valentino Rossi still shined at the British Grand Prix at Donington Park… Ricky Carmichael and Ivan Tedesco topped the 250 and 125cc National MX in Colorado… Joe Kopp won the Annie Oakley Shootout at the Darke County Fairgrounds in Ohio.
