P108 CN III PRODUCT REVIEW DAINESE LAGUNA SECA EVO LIST PRICE: List Price: $1190 Website: www.dainese.com/us_en/ laguna-seca-evo-p-estiva.html Standout Feature Incredible airflow and beautiful construction Rider Analysis Wow. What a suit! I've never had a Dainese race suit before, always far too expensive for me, and now I know why. This is by far the best suit I've ever owned—the fit is amazing (but rather tight), the leather supple yet ultra-strong, and the breathability is streets ahead of my old race suit from Spidi. During the first session on track in 100-degree desert heat, I checked the front zipper multiple times because I was sure I'd left it open. It wasn't—the airflow really was so pronounced that, on my chest at least, it almost felt like I was riding in a t-shirt. It took the whole day of riding and sweating in the suit for it to begin to take shape, and I'll admit it's still quite tight around my back and legs. In a race tuck the suit comes into its own, but in a casual riding stance the fit is super-tight. It'll be another few rides before it feels like my suit - you have to break these things in just like you do an engine before they start to feel good. The panels around the back and shoulder give a noticeable amount of stretch in the tuck position and allow for easy direction changes without pinching or binding. It's the same at the legs, although my legs are at the limit for the standard 54 Tall suit's width and are quite tight when on the bike. I have to run a rather thin back protector with this suit due to the tightness of fit, but once you're on track you never think of it again. You can feel the suit bending and stretching and contorting to your body; it's a quality piece of kit, no doubt. This truly is a great race suit. And for the money, you'd want it to be! Rennie Scaysbrook The Laguna Seca Evo Professionale Estiva is constructed using 1.3-1.4mm premium cowhide, with micro-elastic inserts on the legs, back (in black under the red line) and elbows. These partner up with the bi- axial stretch panels (in red and blue on this suit), which enables the suit to stretch further and conform to the rider's body. The bi-axial panels stretch in width and length down the side and back of the torso to give more movement around the kidneys, chest and arms. Laguna Seca Evo comes with CE Category 2 armor and CE covered zips on the chest, arms and legs. The shoulder, elbows and knees sport removable composite protectors, and underneath them feature Pro-Shape protectors made from high-density polyethylene. The Laguna Seca Evo allows you to wear the legs of the suit on the outside, attached by Velcro to the company's Axial Pro boot, which Dainese says will reduce the chance of anything getting hooked in a crash. The suit is also extremely perforated, with pin holes in the torso, arms and legs below the knee, as well as the back, shoulder and hump. Dainese have also incorporated a removable nano-feel liner in bacteriostatic polyester that helps to wick away sweat. This suit can also be made in Short and Tall sizes. My suit is a 54 Tall, but it was made via special order as the Short and Tall suits are not regularly stocked in the U.S.
