moto, I just rode smart and smooth
and finished strong."
GEICO Honda's Christian Craig
continues to surprise many since
coming out of retirement just a few
races ago. Craig has new-found
speed and confidence and it's show-
ing. Craig led the first two laps of the
first 250 moto and was pulling away
when he became a victim of the mud.
A small tip-over cost him three places,
but he held on to finish fourth behind
Musquin, Webb and Arnaud Tonus.
Craig also rode well in the second
moto, going 4-5 for fourth overall,
and he accomplished this after dislo-
cating his shoulder at the last round
at Spring Creek! "The weekend was
good especially," said Craig. "After
what happened last week I was wor-
ried I wasn't going to make it, but
luckily the shoulder ended up feeling
good and back to normal. I focused
on my start, and that's when I pulled
the holeshot in the first moto. I was
on the verge of a moto win or at least
a podium. I ended up tipping over by
myself, and I'm really frustrated with
myself and that stupid mistake but it
was really muddy out there."
On the results sheet, Kentucky's
Daniel Baker had a tough day, go-
ing 40-22 for 34
th
overall, but in real-
ity, it was one of the best (and prob-
ably most memorable) of his career.
