IN THE WIND P22 WILSON READIES FOR RETURN D ean Wilson has been laying down fast laps all around Southern California's tracks in the last few weeks, including Pala, Glen Helen, Milestone and Perris. The factory KTM rider, who has spent the last several months recovering from a knee injury, has yet to compete in the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship, but "Deano" is ready to make his return to rac- ing for the last three rounds of the season. Following the rehabilitation of his torn ACL, Wilson is looking up to speed, and was blazing fast alongside Ken Roczen, Joey Savatgy and Justin Bogle at Milestone MX. The Red Bull rider looked like he could have jumped right into the fray at Washougal, but stated that he didn't want to return before he's ready. And by ready, he means running at the front. "I don't want to come back until I can be competitive with the top guys," said Wilson. "We can all go fast, but going fast for 35 minutes is a different story." Wilson continued his train- ing by competing in REM MX at Glen Helen over the weekend, where he quite handily won the 450 Pro class. Wilson looks poised and ready to return to ac- tion, so plan to look for his num- ber 15 factory KTM at Unadilla on August 8. Along with the three remain- ing rounds of the Pro Motocross Championship, Wilson also hopes to represent his country at the Motocross of Nations, and will likely compete in other one-off events such as the Red Bull Straight Rhythm on October 11 in Pomona, California.
