and his team had put in since
the first session.
"The fruits of the labor of the
weekend really," said Davies. "It
has been a good weekend and I
knew that this track plays to the
strengths of our bike and more
importantly limits the weak point
of our bike. There is only one
place where I really suffer here.
It shows we have been on the
pace all weekend. We executed
my plan and it worked perfectly.
Race two was a bit more inter-

day from the two days of gener-
ally warm and consistently dry
weather experienced in practice.
Davies took the holeshot to
run away to a two-second lead
on lap nine of the opener, but
Kawasaki Racing Team's Tom
Sykes and Jonathan Rea, fol-
lowing on hard in the early laps,
began to cut into it for a time.
Their own internal on-track
squabbles slowed the pairing
and left Davies free to take a win
that he explained was simply a
race, "I think Chaz had some-
thing extra in his pocket here at
this track."
After heavy overnight rain had
changed all of the plans of the
teams pre-race, the track was
dry in readiness for race one.
For race two it had started to
spit with rain right at the start,
bringing out the warning flags,
and some worried expressions.
The track itself remained basical-
ly dry, and to the relief of every-
body involved, the spots of water
disappeared very quickly.
It was a fierce battle for second
between the factory Kawasaki
teammates—Tom Sykes (66)
and Jonathan Rea (65)
