over Ken Roczen in the series
standings.
As good as his day was, Barcia
didn't seem pleased with sec-
ond place, though he took both
holeshots and held off Dungey in
a solid battle for the lead for four
laps in the second moto.
"It's not very good after win-
ning two in a row," said Barcia.
"We were pumped at Glen
Helen when we got a second
place, but now we're not very
happy. It's just the way life is, I
suppose.
season that everybody's kind of
slowly getting separated mental-
ly. I really wanted to be that guy
to push through to the end."
With four races remaining,
Dungey now has a 56-point lead
cause I really felt like it should
have been a win. So this year

of hours with a child from the Make a
Wish Foundation and spent that time
riding with him. "I've done a lot of
Make a Wish stuff in California," said
Barcia. "They bring a lot of kids to the
races and that's awesome. I enjoy
doing that stuff. I don't have a prob-
lem taking time out of my schedule to
do things like that. It was really cool. I
went out to the track and did my mo-
tos and stuff. Jeremy [Albrecht] and
[JGRMX team owner] Coy [Gibbs]
and all the guys took the little boy,
Austin, to the NASCAR shop and
showed him that stuff. We put graph-
ics on his bike and got it looking pret-
ty cool. We built him his own track at
Gibbs', which was pretty awesome. I
rode with him for probably an hour or
so, talked a little bit. I thought I had a
lot of energy and I was kind of ADD
but I couldn't keep up with him. He
was all over the place, riding, tak-
ing a break, drinking drinks. He was
wild. He had a good time. For me,
to see his parents how happy they
were, that makes it special for me. I'll
do it anytime, any place, anywhere."
