knowing what those sponsors
need in terms of business,
knowing what the riders are
looking for in terms of riders,
same with the promoters—it's
kind of what helps me to be able
to make a determination a little
bit quicker maybe than some-
body else who doesn't have all
those different experiences.
Hopefully that's one of the keys
that I bring, that broad experi-
ence; and then probably more
important than that is my passion
for the sport.
What are your thoughts
on the momentum in the
sport right now? You've got X
Games, a lot of international
interest.
It's really exciting and at the
same time, it gets a little over-
whelming at times. We've got so
many good things going on we
just want to make sure we don't
do anything to get in the way
of all this momentum that we're
getting. And then also figuring
out ways to complement these
things that are happening.
There's just a whole bunch
of things that have created this
interest and this momentum
that we're getting. Troy Bayl-
iss [two-time World Superbike
Champion] wanted to come test
his skills against the best in the
world. He didn't want to just go
out and have fun in dirt track.
He wanted to come see what he
could do against the best in the
world, and that's here. People
see that and they go, 'wow that's
kind of neat.'
"IF BRAD BAKER
WINS THE
CHAMPIONSHIP, HE
RODE A HARLEY 10
RACES AND RODE
A HONDA AT FOUR
OR FIVE RACES;
IN THE END WHO
GETS TO CLAIM THE
CHAMPIONSHIP?"
Flat Track made its big debut at
the X Games this year, wowing
spectators and TV viewers with
a thrilling show.
