After returning from injury just
two races before, Cooper Webb
came away from Millville with a
huge win and the satisfaction of
knowing he beat his Yamalube/
Star Racing Yamaha teammate
Jeremy Martin on his home
track. Webb came from sixth
to first by lap four and held the
lead for the remaining 12 laps,
while Martin tried his best to get
around Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit Kawasaki's Joey Savatgy
but to no avail.
In moto two, Webb came
away just behind Martin but
simply could not match Martin's
speed in the second moto and
settled for second. His 1-2 was
good enough for the win.
"I think if there's one place I
want to beat (Martin) it's definite-
ly here," said Webb. "Unfortu-
nately he beat me in the second
moto straight up but to be able
to pass him in the first one and
win was good. Coming into the
tracks that obviously he doesn't
know as much is a confidence
thing for me.
"Then in the second one I
actually got my best start but
unfortunately it was behind
J-Mart [Jeremy Martin] and he
was riding good. I tried hang-
ing with him as much as I could.
He was definitely going fast out
there. I knew 1-2 would get the
job done, and for me, I'm not in
"It was a good day," said No-
ren. "I was struggling a little bit in
the first moto and I think I ended
up eighth. We did some minor
adjustments to the suspension
for the second moto and that
felt a lot better. I've also been
working a lot on my starts this
week and that helped for sure.
I had two pretty good starts. I
think I was fifth or seventh in
both starts, so that's good for
fifth in the second moto marked
his best moto finish of his career.
In the second moto, Noren
got a great jump out of the gate,
and was fourth at the end of
lap one. Noren got passed by
Roczen and Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna Factory Racing's
Jason Anderson on lap two of
the moto, but would come back
and re-pass Anderson on lap 11
to take fifth.
