Unfortunately for Hayden,
Beaubier was on a mission.
"It's a little disappointing to
come up that close and still get
second, but I gave it all that I
had. It was a fun battle with Cam
[Beaubier], going through the
corkscrew that close with some-
body you trust was a lot of fun.
In the last corner, I just gave it
with him and then it looked like
he was starting to slide a little
bit. I felt pretty good and I made
the pass.
"My first lap in the lead
was really slow. I was like, 'I
don't want to be that guy who
couldn't do the laps in the front.'
So I really put my head down
and started doing basically the
same lap times that we were
knew I had to hang it out."
Beaubier wasn't the only one
hanging it out. Hayden was all
in to try and get that first win of
the season.
"It was a good race in the
beginning," he said. "I really
didn't want to let Josh get away
because I've seen him do that
many times and the race is over
after five laps. So I really hung
