CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "Thank you Ryan Villopoto for showing the world what being a true champion is all about." Ryan Villopoto Every champion has their time and place. Ryan, you have made your place in the record books. Thank you for giving your all throughout your career. I was glad to see an American racer at your level at least give the World Championship a try and I hope others will follow. Ed Adams Jr. Thank you Ryan Villopoto for showing the world what being a true champion is all about. You raised the bar on multiple levels and in ways that will continue to benefit the sport for years to come. See you at the races. Mike Saunders Ryan made the right decision which is the smart decision— nothing left to prove! Thanks Ryan for representing America and our State of Wash- ington with such a high level of determination and professional- ism for your entire career. Raymond Collins He will be missed with the likes of Jordan, Montana and Gretzky. We should all be thank- ful we lived through the RV era and were able to watch his skills in person. It was a privilege to have seen RV perform. Kim W. Palmer I was kind of expecting this. He always said, win or lose, it would be his last year. Sad ending to a great career but lots of stellar careers ended a lot worse. He accomplished way more than all but a very few and had some devastating injuries along the way. He's more than earned retirement. Hopefully another high caliber American MXer can make the MXGPs interesting for us Yanks in the coming years. Will be interesting to see what the next chapter in RV's life brings. He sure made racing exciting to watch! Terry Heath Though, I have not been a Ryan Villopoto fan—until this year—his accomplishments cannot be denied. That he has come back from horrible injury multiple times and to win multiple champion- ships is testament to his race craft, riding skill, determination and work ethic. I am sad to hear he is retir- ing. Cheers, to you Ryan Villo- poto! I wish you great success in your next chapter in life. Tom Parker Ryan Villopoto has accom- plished more in American motocross than only one other incredible athlete in the his- tory of the sport. That is a feat nearly beyond words. I applaud Ryan for his decision to go out on top. Allen Harrington Ryan, thanks for your efforts through the years. I was at the MXoN in Budds Creek when you spanked the world. You are not that far out of shape, how about one last spanking at the USGP? Jackie Pacholke Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com.
