Christian Craig got out into the
early lead, leading the race until
Webb took the lead on lap nine.
Craig held onto second with
Martin in third. On lap 13, Webb
went down in the whoops, caus-
ing Craig to alter his line, and
Martin was able to pass both
riders in the process to take the
lead.
Martin held on for the victory
ahead of Zach Osborne and
Craig, giving him a 1-1 score for
the day and the overall win.
"I got off to two really good
starts," said Martin. "I was lead-
ing the first moto and then my
arms got tired. I really struggled
for a while but I found a way to
turn it around and get back up
there. Marvin and I battled a
lot today for the first time this
season. We've been dodging
each other all season, but today
was the day we battled. He's a
phenomenal racer and he keeps
me on my toes. I saw a yellow
flag and thought it was Cooper
and it ended up being him, so I
just tried to pick a line and make
a move and it worked. I got lucky
there."
After finishing fifth overall the
week before at Budds Creek,
Osborne upped his game, using
speed and consistency to earn
a rampage and passed Martin
on lap six to take the lead when
Martin slowed with arm-pump
and failed to jump LaRocco's
Leap. Webb would lead the next
11 laps, but on the final lap of the
moto, Martin made an incredible
pass for the lead, as he made up
a two-second deficit on the final
lap to take the win.
In moto two, GEICO Honda's
an off day, a lot of which had to
do with an injury to his wrist that
he suffered at Lakewood earlier
in the year. He re-aggravated it
at RedBud.
RedBud was one of the best
250 races of the year because
all of the players were up front
and battling head-to-head in both
motos. Martin took the early lead
