VOL. 52 ISSUE 27 JULY 7, 2015 P51
H
onda has added a second
model to its trials lineup,
the 2016 Montesa Cota
300RR. The 300RR joins the
Cota 4RT260.
Produced entirely at the
Honda-owned Montesa fac-
tory in the trials hotbed of
Barcelona, Spain, the Cota
300RR is a limited-edition,
state-of-the-art trials machine,
similar to the bike that Cody
Webb has been riding in the
AMA NATC MotoTrials USA
National Trials Championship.
Compared to the Cota
4RT260, the Cota 300RR's
redesigned 288cc engine
has a longer stroke and larger
bore, resulting in increased
power and torque across the
range, and it has a program-
mable ECU that allows fine-
tuning for varying weather and
terrain conditions. Through
the use of lightweight compo-
nents like a titanium header
pipe and aluminum fork,
weight has been reduced
by over four pounds. A front
brake with a four-piston mono-
block caliper is standard, as
are wheels with aluminum
D.I.D rims and black-anodized
aluminum hubs.
MSRP is $9999.
