in sixth at the start of the week-
end—14 points down to Mees—
and left Du Quoin tied with Cool-
beth for third, just 10 points out
of the series lead. Mees goes to
Indy next week with an eight-
point lead on Halbert (96-88).
The return to Du Quoin made
for a great race. Many riders
called it their favorite track ever
and the fans and riders all hope
the race will remain permanently
on the schedule for years to
come.
The series moves to the Indy
Mile this Saturday, July 11. CN

came around together a little
over nine seconds back from the
leaders.
The victory gave Smith a big
Briefly...
mounted on Harley-Davidson and
Kawasaki. There were two Triumphs
and a single Ducati and KTM.
Kenny Coolbeth Jr. is a new father.
His wife Jennifer had a baby boy on
Thursday and they named him Liam.
Shawn Baer
