IN THE WIND P26 FEBVRE DOUBLES AT GP OF SWEDEN T he FIM Motocross World Championship headed north to the land of the midnight sun for round 11 of the series in Ud- devalla, Sweden, where cham- pionship leader Romain Febvre was unstoppable. The Yamaha Factory Racing Yamalube rider proved once again to be the master of traction on the slip- pery, hard-pack track, where he rode to his career-first double victory. "I am riding a dream and I hope I don't wake up until the end [of the] season," said Feb- vre, who continues to pull away in the championship. He made even more ground on defending champion Antonio Cairoli, who had another tough day with a sub-par 13 th place finish in the first moto. The factory KTM rider is still struggling through a wrist injury suffered at the Grand Prix of Italy, and was able to salvage seventh overall by mustering a third-place finish in the second moto. He moved into second in points due to Max Nagl's ab- sence (the Husqvarna rider still out after a crash at the Grand Prix of Germany), but Cairoli continues to give up valuable points to Febvre as the champi- onship. Traction was hard to come by, as were consistent results on the dry and hard-pack track at the Grand Prix of Sweden. Behind Febvre's dominant per- formance, results were strewn across the board. Second place went to fellow Yamaha Factory Racing Yamalube rider Jeremy Van Horebeek with a 2-5 finish, while third went to Rockstar En- ergy Suzuki's Kevin Strijbos who carded an 8-2 score. Van Horebeek's podium marked his first of 2015. The Yamaha's Romain Febvre is on a tear. The Frenchman captured another overall MXGP victory and his career- first double win at the Grand Prix of Sweden. PHOTOGRAPHY BY YAMAHA RACING
