even in qualifying and stuff, I
didn't have the pace that JD
had," Herrin said. "There's just
something here this weekend
that's holding us back or it
seems like it's just him going
really fast, because everybody
else is kind of in the same boat."
Beach attributed it to help
from friend and fellow racer
Veloce Racing MV Agusta's
Hayden Gillim.
"I just felt really good the
whole race and was able to do
some good laps," Beach said. "I
just got to thank Hayden Gillim.
He actually quit his job so we
could train together. We've been
training really hard. We've been
pushing each other. He keeps
getting faster and faster each
weekend and he's been really
pushing me on the bicycle and
on the dirt track bike. It's just
been a big help and the bike's
just working great today. It felt
really good in the heat."
Whatever it was, it's working.
Beach looked absolutely flaw-
less. There was no apparent mo-
ments or wild saves—a little more
smooth, perhaps?
