Barcia. "We went through three en-
gines today, and I'm so proud of how
hard the entire team worked to make
this happen. I got the start I needed
and I just rode the best I could without
making any major mistakes. This has
been a long time coming and I'm just
so happy to get my first win and put
this JGR team on top of the box."
Pourcel wound up with a career-
best second place finish thanks to a
2-3 moto finish. The Rockstar Energy
Husqvarna Factory Racing-backed
Frenchman jumped into second at
the start of moto one, but gave up the
position to RCH/Soaring Eagle/Jimmy
Johns Suzuki's Ken Roczen before the
end of the lap.
Pourcel would soon come under
attack from Barcia, as the duo's battle
eventually pushed both riders back
ahead of Roczen when the German
rider started to slow later in the race.
Pourcel would hold on to finish sec-
ond, with Barcia third, while Dungey
took the first moto win some 10 sec-
onds ahead of Pourcel.
In the second moto, Pourcel battled
Yoshimura Suzuki's Blake Baggett for
second, but this time he would lose the
runner-up slot when Baggett made a
last-lap pass on a slippery off-camber.
Pourcel's podium finish moved him
Alex Martin put in the surprise ride of the
day. He passed his brother, Jeremy, for the
win in the first 250 moto and just missed out
getting the overall victory with a 1-7.
