ALEX MARTIN SIGNS WITH STAR RACING
A
lex Martin, who won the
first 250 moto at Budds
Creek on June 27, has already
landed a home for next year.
Martin, who currently rides for
the CycleTrader.com/Rock
River Yamaha team, will join his
brother, Jeremy, at the Yama-
lube/Star Racing Yamaha Team,
beginning next year.
"We are excited to have Alex
on board for the 2016 season,"
Star Racing owner Bobby
Regan said. "He will be a great
addition to the team, and the
dynamic created by having
brothers on the same team will
definitely bring a new level of
camaraderie and competition
to the team. We expect Alex
to contend for championships
in both Supercross and moto-
cross."
So what does this mean
for the rest of the Star Rac-
ing squad? Martin is expected
to ride alongside teammates
Jeremy Martin, Cooper Webb
and Aaron Plessinger. Anthony
Rodriguez, who is currently with
the team but has struggled with
injuries the past couple of years,
probably won't be re-signed.
Rock River team manager
Christina Denney said, "With
his talent and unquestionable
work ethic, I'm confident Alex
will enjoy the same success with
Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha's
top-notch equipment and great
team setup that he did here at
Cycle Trader.com/Rock River
Yamaha."
"Martin has shown great pro-
gression over the last few sea-
sons, most recently earning two
SX podium finishes and third
place moto finishes at both the
Glen Helen and High Point Na-
tionals," a release from the Rock
River team said. "While results
are important, the CycleTrader.
com/Rock River Yamaha team
has always maintained a family
culture, and Martin has become
an integral part of that tradition
over the last three years. The
entire team staff, both past and
present wish Alex the best of
luck as he remains with Yamaha
Motor USA to join the Yamalube
Star Racing Yamaha team in
2016. It is a bittersweet depar-
ture, but we wish him the best
as he looks to take the next step
in his racing career."
"I can't thank the Cycle
Trader.com/Rock River Yamaha
Team enough for the support
over the last two years. Their
efforts have definitely led to the
great results and opportunities
I've had this year," said Alex
Martin.
Alex Martin will
join his brother,
Jeremy, on the
Yamalube/Yamaha/
Star Racing Team
next year.
keep everyone posted on what's
next."
Grant finished out the 2015
Monster Energy Supercross
Series in 11
th
, with his best finish
being a fourth at Houston. He
finished out the season with a
respectable fifth at Las Vegas.
Grant was hoping for a promis-
ing outdoor season but suffered
an injury just prior to the Hang-
town opener and sat out that
round. He returned a week later
at Glen Helen, then suffered an-
other injury the following week
at Colorado. He hadn't raced
since.
