VOL. 52 ISSUE 24 JUNE 16, 2015 P57 H onda has come out swinging in the 250cc category for 2016, with the CRF250 vastly updated to keep up with the hordes of KTMs, Kawasakis and Yama- has currently ruling the roost. The 2016 CRF250R gets new fuel injection mapping, a new intake tube and a revised exhaust system with larger outlets for better breathing, plus a new header pipe. The higher compression engine is matched with increased camshaft lift, titanium exhaust valves, new valve springs, as well as a revised cylinder head port job, piston shape and an altered con-rod—all aimed at reducing friction and increas- ing horsepower. There are also new, larger radiators. Like the CRF450R, the 250R gets a 5mm longer fork and the reduction in chain roller diameter by 4mm to 34mm. The new CRF250R will be on sale this September for a MSRP of $7599.
