IN THE WIND P26 WESTBY'S YAMAHA GOES TO BARBER T he late Dane Westby's father, Tryg, has donated his son's number 00 Yamalube/Westby Racing Yamaha YZF-R6 to the Barber Motorsports Museum. Dane Westby was tragically killed in a street-bike accident just prior to the start of the 2015 MotoAmerica Superstock 1000 Championship, with Josh Day now riding for the team in his honor. The machine donated to the museum is the same one Dane used to win both AMA Pro Rac- ing Daytona Sportbike races at Barber in 2014, making it an especially significant machine to the Barber museum. "Dane had loyal fans all over the U.S. and throughout the world," Tryg said. "Now that his golden number 00 R6 is here in its new home at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, his fans will have a chance to visit the Museum, see the bike, and remember my son. I'm certain that he would be thrilled to know that his racebike is in the Museum and at the track where he won both races last year. Dane loved Barber Motorsports Park. He loved the Museum, the track, and the awesome fans who cheered him on here. I'm proud to donate Dane's bike in his honor." Jeff Ray, Executive Director of the Barber Vintage Motor- sports Museum, commented, "The Barber Museum is hon- ored to become home to the Ya- malube/Westby Racing Yamaha YZF-R6. We appreciate that this bike has a history at the track at Barber Motorsports Park, and with it having been ridden by Dane Westby, it becomes an especially important bike in our collection." NEARLY FLAWLESS AT BRITISH WORLD TRIAL R epsol Honda's Toni Bou seized victory with another superb ride, this time at the Brit- ish round of the FIM Trial World Championship. The Spaniard rode to a dominant win aboard his Montesa Cota 4RT, and maintains an unbeaten spell of eight consecutive wins since the 2015 season began. Toni Bou stunned the com- petition right from the start, as he dominated the first lap. He picked up a five-point pen- alty in section three, and very little else. His second lap was even better while his final lap was flawless. "I'm really thrilled," Bou said. "Today I rode really comfortably throughout the trial and I'm very pleased with the way I handled it. It was a day to remember with a really good second and third lap." Gas Gas rider Adam Raga finished a distant second, with more than 30 marks more than Bou. Beta's Jeroni Fajardo rounded out the podium while Albert Cabestany and Jaime Justo filled out the top-five.
