we can go at it again."
Lewis ran strong at times in
both races, actually leading early
in race two. He ultimately fin-
ished third in Superbike in race
one and fourth in race two.
"It was a good weekend
overall," Lewis commented. "I
was pretty close to the front, just
a few tenths here and there, so
I'm getting closer. In race one
I stayed close and was able to
learn a little bit and in the sec-
ond race I didn't quite have the
pace I needed and I couldn't
catch them, so I backed it down
a bit to make sure I got good
points. I'm looking forward to
moving on to Miller. I've had
some good luck there in the
past and our Suzuki will go good
there because it has a couple of
fast straightaways."
Danny Eslick was the best of
the rest in the Superbike class,
scoring a 4-5 in the two races
aboard his TTR Honda. KTM's
Chris Fillmore rounded out the
top five in Superbike in race
one. He was sixth in race two.
GAGNE DOMINATES
SUPERSTOCK 1000
RoadRace Factory Yamaha rider
Jake Gagne continued to show
amazing speed on his Super-
stock 1000 machine. Gagne
raced to third overall in the com-
bined Superbike/Superstock
1000 race one beating all but
two of Superbikes in the race
and finishing 16 seconds ahead
of second-place Superstock
rider Taylor Knapp of TOBC
Racing Yamaha. Tyler O'Hara
was third on the Chisum/Motul
Racing Yamaha. He was similarly
dominant in race two, gauging
himself off the Superbike instead
of worrying about the rest of his
Superstock competition.
"I was trying that's for sure,"
Gagne said when asked if he had
his sights set on Superbike riders.
"I gave it everything I had every
single lap out there. The R1 was
working amazing. Those guys
were here at the track until 1:00
am switching motors last night
after the deal we had in qualifying.
