It was worse for his elder
brother William. The Tyco
BMW rider, still looking for that
elusive TT win, crashed out in
practice at Laurel Bank for the
Superstock race and suffered a
broken rib and severe bruising,
ruling him out of the remainder
of TT week.
One of the most consistent
riders at TT 2015 was James
Hillier with the Quattro Plant Ka-
wasaki outfit. The former Light-
weight TT winner was unable
to bag a win in 2015, however
recorded podium finishes in the
Senior (2nd), Superbike (3rd)
and Lightweight (3rd) TTs. He
also had the honor of taking
Kawasaki's track-only, super-
charged H2R to a new outright
top speed record down the
Sulby Straight with a registered
206mph.
It would be another frustrating
TT for Guy Martin. The Lincoln-
shire rider's best result was a
third in the second Supersport
TT for the Smiths Racing Tri-
umph team and fourth in the
Senior for the Tyco BMW squad,
however still that TT win he so
craves eludes him. He became a
last minute ring-in for the injured
William Dunlop in the Victory
Motorcycles Zero TT team, tak-
ing fourth behind teammate Lee
Johnston.
Former TT winner Gary
Johnson had another consis-
tent TT with a podium in the first
Supersport TT but was unable to
challenge for a victory.
In the Sidecar TTs, broth-
ers Tom and Ben Birchall took
both victories and a new race
record in the second encoun-
ter, setting a new benchmark of
116.259mph.
Rennie Scaysbrook
Bruce Anstey (center) finally took
his first win in the Superbike TT and
his 10th victory in total.
