P168 CN III PRODUCT REVIEW AGV GT VELOCE LIST PRICE: $559.95 Website: www.agv.com Standout Feature Lightweight, excellent cooling, great looks and long distance comfort. Rider Analysis Two solid days covering nearly 800 miles is enough for any helmet analysis and the GT Veloce came through with flying colors. I've got a Corsa for track use and found the GT's more relaxed fit much more comfortable. The crown of the helmet is very comfortable thanks to the mesh lining that helps flow a serious amount of air. The inner shell of the GT has massive air channels that help cool your head and once I'd pulled the back pads out of the inner liner to open it up a little, I felt great in the GT. The visor system is brilliant and makes changes very quick, although without the Pinlock film across the inside they do fog up very quickly in wet weather. On that point, the visor isn't a spring loaded one, meaning you can't ride with the visor at half-length. This gets really annoying because even though the ventilation is excellent, in rain it can still get very stuffy and the only way to clear this is to raise the visor. Do it on a GT, like a Corsa, and the visor will snap shut. Having stiffer rollers for the visor would fix this without the need to go for a spring system. Another thing is the standard holes inside the helmet for an intercom system are too small for the speakers of my Sena S20. I've managed to squeeze them in but it's a Band-Aid solution, so I'll have to wait for AGV's Bluetooth headset to hit the market. On the plus side there's no bolt-on spoiler at the back of the GT like you get on a Corsa or Pista, so your passenger won't head-butt you so easily! In all the GT Veloce is an excellent helmet – it looks great, isn't too noisy even with the extra ventilation, and is good value for the money. Rennie Scaysbrook The AGV GT Veloce is the Italian company's premium road helmet, taking hues from the Pista and Corsa race helmets. The GT is made using what AGV calls their SSL (Super, Super Light) composite fiber, aramid and carbon fiber construction that weighs 3.4lbs, making for an extremely light and comfortable helmet designed for riders who cover big miles on the bike at a time. The GT houses the IVS (Integrated Ventilation System) and has three vents at the top and two on the rear and provides excellent cooling over long trips. The inner liners are removable and washable and come with tuning pads in the crown and back sections, meaning you can add or remove the thickness of the pads to get the ideal shape for your head, and the visor system is a quick-release mechanism (dubbed the XQRS – Extra Quick Release System) via a small level on either side of the helmet, making removal a five second job. The AGV GT Veloce also comes in mid sizes, meaning the sizes go S-M-ML-L. this makes the helmet more accessible to a wider range of riders who would struggle to get a good fit between medium and large.
