STORY AND PHOTOGRAPHY BY MIKE EMERY T he Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross parade has marched its way to the scenic landscape of High Point Raceway in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, where the 450 class saw its third different rider of the season come away with the overall win and the 250 class saw the red plate change hands once again. Riders were treated to a High Point track that took on some well-received changes and a day without rain! Well, at least not until all four motos were completed. Soaring Eagle/ RCH Suzuki's Ken Roczen took full advantage of the good rac- ing conditions to claim his first overall win of the season, which came on the heals of his first moto win the previous weekend in Tennessee. The win at the UPMC Sports Medicine High Point National was certainly a morale booster for the former World Champion but, unfor- tunately for him, it did not get him any closer to class leader in points Ryan Dungey, who matched Roczen's 1-2 perfor- mance on the day. VOL. 52 ISSUE 24 JUNE 16, 2015 P121 Briefly... It was another top five performance for Justin Barcia, but the JGRMX Team rider left High Point again wanting more. His 5-4 scores were nothing to complain about, but he is not satisfied. Visually a little disap- pointed, Barcia contemplated the day while icing his left ankle. "Top five is not what we want, we want podiums," Barcia said. "It's frustrat- ing for sure, coach [Joe Gibbs, team owner] was here today and I wanted to be on the podium for him. I'm do- ing the best I can, though, and I'm getting better. Unfortunately I twisted my ankle a little that second moto, but I will be okay and rest up a cou- ple days." Another 450 pilot who is gaining mo- mentum is the lone BTO sports rider Justin Brayton who earned a top 10 in moto one. "I love High Point," he said. "I was excited to come here. The first moto I came from a little ways back to ninth and the second moto I crashed twice late in the race and ended up 14 th , which was a huge bummer result-wise. I feel like my riding has improved, so I can't hang my head too low, and I am excited to have a weekend off, build, and come back to Budds Creek to hope- fully start clicking off some top fives." In the 250 class, battles could be found throughout the pack, espe- cially in the fifth- to 10 th -place range. GEICO Honda teammates Jordan Smith and Christian Craig had a battle in moto two, and Joey Savat- gy improved his moto-one score of sixth to a top three, claiming a fifth overall.
