VOL. 52 ISSUE 23 JUNE 9, 2015 P89 ter. I still think we can get better on the bike to make it easier on us. We got a win in the second moto and finished second over- all, so I'm not too bummed. I'm going to keep putting in my work so I can make adjustments while I'm on the track, too." ANDERSON STEPS UP Third overall was the very ag- gressive Rockstar Husqvarna rider Jason Anderson who is starting to hit his outdoor stride. The New Mexico native had a very solid come from (far!) behind second moto after finish- Briefly... was very tricky and claimed a couple riders' front ends. It merely drizzled during the second 450 moto; other than that the weather presented per- fect sunny skies. Orange Brigade KTM's Alex Frye made his pro debut at Muddy Creek. He was pitted with Daniel Baker, who made his pro debut at Hang- town. They both joined Dakota Alix, who, before Muddy Creek, had been the team's lone rider. Frye was calm when we spoke to him prior to the race, but he seemed excited to get to the line. "The nerves are there, for sure, just because this is something totally new. The track is a lot rougher, just the second round of practices are already rougher than an amateur national. I'm excited and just ready to get out there and learn, and im- prove each weekend." Frye showed his speed, but not without a rookie- esque first-moto DNF when a crash and collision resulted in a broken muffler. He rebounded in moto two to score points in his first ever na- tional, landing in 19th position when the checkers waved. One rider who has been very im- pressive early on this year but has seemed to have a black cloud over his head lately is Alex Martin, who had forgettable 19-12 finishes here in Tennessee. He found himself in the dirt at the start of both motos. The Cycletrader.com/Rock River Yama- ha rider ended up going 19-12 for 15 th overall. AirGroup/Rockstar Husqvarna's Ryan Sipes had a busy weekend. The motocross-turned-off-road racer competed at Muddy Creek and then Justin Barcia (51) grabbed the early lead in the first 450 moto but couldn't take advantage of it. continued on next page
