And for those die-hard fans who love it, flat track racing has always been cool; it's only just recently that it's become hot. People are starting to catch on to one of America's oldest forms of motorcycle racing. That's in part to a lot of hype surrounding the sport of late, largely from outside sources—top MotoGP stars like Valentino Rossi and Marc Marquez; and more recent- ly, Supercrosser Chad Reed. To add to that A-List athlete boost, the sport finally got the opportunity to take center stage in front of a mainstream audi- ence—the X Games—perfect platform to spread the word about flat track racing, because the ESPN made for TV sporting competition puts an emphasis on the extreme.
