2015 DUCATI PANIGALE R FIRST RIDE P56 been specifically targeted at meeting the letter of the law in terms of Superbike regulations – not only in a technical sense, but also in terms of production numbers, too. So the new 2015 Panigale R – note the dropping of the 1199 capacity moniker – is the latest model in a long and largely suc- cessful tradition of Ducati selling what it races, but also racing what it sells. It's been created to meet the specific require- ments of the new-for-2015 World Superbike regulations, meaning a minimum of 1000 examples will be built for sale. However, unlike limited edition models such as, say, last year's ultra-costly 1199 Superleggera of which just 500 examples were manufactured, there's no finite limit on how many examples of the new bike will be built, says Ducati – supply will fol- low demand. And after riding it It's not the easiest machine to get the most out of. The Panigale will make you work for it.
