P90 CN III PRODUCT REVIEW DAINESE TEREN D-DRY JACKET LIST PRICE: $499 Website: www.dainese.com/us_ en/g-teren-d-dry-1576.html Standout Feature Excellent comfort for long distances, warmth and great looks. Rider Analysis These Teren jackets have been around for a while now and are right toward to the top of the jacket food chain. I reckon they're probably the best looking touring jacket around, and the fit for me was near spot-on. There's no escaping this is a big jacket. It's got almost every feature I'd want, especially the large front and rear vents that makes this jacket one you could consider on a hot day, even though you probably wouldn't. A couple of things stood out during a 1400 mile ride in almost every weather condition imaginable. The first is when you take the inner liner out, it is very difficult to re-secure at the base of the arms due to the hand gaiters being sown into the jacket. After a while of getting frustrated I just left the liner loose and dealt with it. The second thing was the Teren was not as waterproof as I'd hoped. A day of riding in the wet with all the liners in and every button/clip/zip I could find done up, water eventually still found its way through to my compression top and soaked me cold. In the Teren's defense I will say this was pretty torrential rain and you'd be hard pressed finding a jacket under $1000 that wouldn't leak, but I did expect a little more water resistance. The pockets eventually started letting some water in, so it was a good thing I had a plastic bag for my phone and wallet. The Teren is also very heavy when the water has soaked though. Aside from those issues this is a very good jacket. The Teren's comfort is only bettered by my BMW StreetGuard suit (the same is said for water resistance), and I love the adjustability of the Teren via the drawstrings in the pockets, as well as the ventilation and how tough it looks with the external shoulder guards. The Dainese Teren D-Dry is the Italian company's premium touring/adventure style jacket. The Teren is made using elasticated Codura Comfort, noted for its excellent stretching and breathing ability as well as its resistance to tearing in an accident. The thermoformed inserts on the shoulders, as well as the drawstring adjustment on the arms and waist characterize the Teren's tough appearance. The Teren has removable CE composite protectors, reflex inserts and numerous internal and waterproof external pockets, as well as large chest and back vents. You can also remove the waterproof inner liner and wear it as a sweater.
