CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "Five consecutive wins at Sacto is damn impressive." BMW R nineT After reading Jason Abbott's review of the R nineT, I'd like to add the missing range indica- tor, engine temperature gauge and ambient temperature indicator to his list of crosses, all standard equipment on the BMW R12R that I recently traded in for an R Nine T. Since the R12 comes with practically the same engine and instrument cluster, I had assumed that the nineT would have the same technology as the R. Not so. Why on earth would BMW put in the effort to remove existing technology from a newer model is beyond me. Seems like the R nineT leans more towards the form side of the form-function spectrum. Red Grey Via The Internet Sacramento Mile Another great Mile race. Happy for Bryan Smith and the Cros- ley Radio/Howerton Kawasaki crew. Five consecutive wins at Sacto is damn impressive. Lance Holst Via The Internet It was a great race. I wanted the Triumph, though. Christopher Ochoa Via The Internet Eli Tomac Crash That had to be one of the worst crashes I've seen. Twenty-five mph (just a guess) to zero, face first, in an instant. You and your dad are gnarly. Russell Roeckel Via The Internet I did that at the USGP in '79. That shoulder hung almost an inch lower after that, but I got a cortisone shot on Monday and got second place at Sears Point 500's the next week. Smooth track with a few big g-outs—Muddy Creek will be tough. Darrell Shultz Rocklin, CA Ouch! That takes about three to four weeks to recover from. He can still ride, just not 100 percent. Indra Gunawan Via The Internet Even if he gets fifth or sixth he will stay in the points. Then after that maybe start winning again. Robert Veal Via The Internet TV Frustrations So thrilled to have the Mo- toAmerica effort. But we'll never know how thrilled since we can't watch the racing. CBS Sports would seem to have never watched or aired a race of any kind. "Wow, a lot of prerace cover- age, I do like Colin though. Why isn't he also speaking British?" "Did I miss the grid, where did everyone qualify?" "What lap is this, wait, what; lap nine?" "What about riders behind p3?" "Are all cameras only POV, I'm getting dizzy?" "It's over?" "Race two, no thanks." Click. Anthony LaGrasta MIssion Viejo, CA Letters to the editor can be sent to voices@cyclenews.com. Published letters do not necessarily reflect the position of Cycle News.
