We ran a photo from the Italian Grand Prix on the cover of Cycle News 40
years ago to accompany our report; Giacomo Agostini was the big win-
ner… We tested the Bultaco 360 Frontera off-road bike and we felt that its
$1625 asking price was worth the money… Tony DiStefano took over the
250cc National MX points lead after winning both motos in Herman, Nebras-
ka; we also covered the Blue Grass National
MX in Kentucky that was held a week earlier
and won by Kent Howerton… We interview
road racer Alberto Cecotto.

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to ride an enduro in Hawaii and took on
the Mauna Kea 200; John DeSoto won it, we survived it… Terry Poovey
won the Louisville Half Mile and we were there to see it happen… Ron Le-
chien, Jeff Ward and David Bailey were the starts at the Six Flags National
Motocross in Georgia… Ed Arnett was the big winner at the CMC Otay Pro-
Am Challenge Motocross that was held in Tijuana, Mexico… Dave Bertram
led a Husqvarna sweep at the National Enduro in Tillamook, Oregon.

We hyped up Mike Alessi's first outdoor Na-
tional Motocross win, which came in the 125 class at High Point Raceway;
Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart had their first head-to-head duel in
the 250 class. Carmichael, on the Suzuki RM-Z450 four-stroke, beat Stew-
art, on the Kawasaki KX250 two-stroke, both motos… Rich King topped
Chris Carr at the Springfield Mile, while J.R. Schnabel won the Springfield
TT… Geoff Aaron dominated the dual-round AMA National Trials in Aguanga,
California… Ty Davis won the Taft WORCS round.
20 Years Ago June 7, 1995
1-800-COLLECT/Honda's Doug Henry broke through for his first AMA 250 Na-
tional Motocross victory, which happened at High Point Raceway in Mt. Morris,
Pennsylvania; Tim Ferry won the 125 class… We interview Damon Bradshaw
who made his return to racing at High Point after having earlier retired from rac-
ing… Carl Fogarty took top honors at the World Superbike round at Donington
Park… We covered Chris Carr's win at the Springfield Mile… Donny Schmit
won the White Bros. Four-Stroke World Cham-
pionship at Glen Helen.
