CN III VOICES L E T T E R S T O T H E E D I T O R "Eli Tomac looks like the second coming of Ricky Carmichael" Amazing Tomac The rest of the 450 class needs to phone home....they got owned by E.T. Mark Haskins Via The Internet I haven't seen a butt kicking like that since JS7 at Budds back in the 125 days when he bet his dad he could win by one minute, the day he made the scrub famous. Wow! Eli looked ridiculously fast, the way he carried his momentum in the rough spot was insane. I think Roger D. made a mistake lobbying to have the 450 race last to prevent games that run long, interfering the television coverage of the 450s. I don't think Roger noticed that Eli gets faster the rougher the track gets. I just have to say, there isn't an MX racer on the face of the earth that could have beaten ET3 on this day at that track. Not even RV2 at his best. Not all races are going to go that good, but it sure is a good day for us ET3 fans. Congratulations to him, keep it up. Go Tomac! Todd Dooley Via The Internet Eli Tomac looks like the second coming of Ricky Carmichael. If he can continue to get good starts and stays off the ground, he'll be hard to beat. Looks like he'll be on a Kawasaki next year. RV chose the right time for his "European vacation." Terry Heath Via The Internet Calling Eli Tomac's win domina- tion is an understatement. If this keeps up, it's going to be a very long summer for Dungey. Shawn McAtee Via The Internet The Luck Of The Devil Through freakish talent, relent- less training, and exceptional teamwork, both Marquez and Rossi earned the privilege of luck. Speaking of good for- tune, what a great time to be a race fan! Sean McLaughlin Via The Internet Memory Lane I've been a subscriber reader for at least 42 years, and I was a mediocre short tracker, ice racer, woods and street bike rider for 50 years. I remember getting a Motocross Cat hat with a paid subscription. I remember when KR, Springer, Goss, the Scott broth- ers and countless others were the heroes of the day for me and my friends. I remember the Camel Pro Series, Daytona, Syracuse, the Astrodome TT and short track, and the H-D team hammering the TT jump on a XR750s. Those were the days. I saw the rise of great talents: Poovey, Graham, Shobert, Boody, Carr… I could babble for hours. We were fast guys in Massa- chusetts and NH and went out to NY and got lots of humble pie. There were a lot of great short trackers in the '70s. Bring back the old style GNC—somebody please! Read it all every week in Cycle News and still do. Love your publication.
