MOTOCROSS
LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 1 / MAY 14, 2015
PRAIRIE CITY SVRA / RANCHO CORDOVA, CALIFORNIA
P64
ever pro podium after going 5-3
for third, and he did it after two
mediocre starts.
After the race, Alldredge and
his family tearfully celebrated his
milestone moment, and he later
said, "I feel great. I knew my
speed was there—I was happy
with it—but I just didn't know for
sure. I felt good; I'm in better
shape than I thought I was."
Alldredge, who is fresh out of
the amateur ranks, said he felt
more comfortable outdoors than
he did in the just concluded Su-
percross Series. "I was scared in
Supercross [in his first season],
I'm the first to tell you. I grew up
outdoors, it's a little more my
speed way, but I felt pretty good. I
surprised myself winning the first
moto after my bad start. Overall,
I'm happy; I've never started the
outdoors this good before. I have
to be happy with it."
Based on Hangtown alone,
this year's race for the 250
crown could develop into a two-
horse race between Martin and
Musquin. We'll know more after
Glen Helen.
ALLDREDGE IMPRESSES
Chris Alldredge might have been
the least expected of the high-
profile Monster Energy/Pro
Circuit/Kawasaki Team riders
(Alldredge, Joey Savatgy and
Cianciarulo; Arnoud Tonus is
still out with health issues) to be
its best finisher of the day, but
that's what happened. The team's
rookie had an outstanding ride
and was rewarded with his first-
Marvin Musquin won
the first moto but a
bad start in the second
moto cost him a
chance for victory.
